HINSON, John Sherman Sr., 82, of Dade City, Fla., passed away December 13, 2010, with his family by
his side.
John was born February 8, 1928, to Lionel and Jessie May Howard Hinson in Homestead, Fla. He was a truck driver most of his life.
John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty. He is survived by a son, John and Joanna Hinson; a daughter, Theresa Murphy; four grand-children, Sherma Jean and John T. Keeling, Tracy Roy, Matthew and Jessica Blechschmidt and Lauren Hinson; and three great-grandsons, Brandon Hinson, Lennon Keeling and Brian Hinson all of the Dade City and Zephyrhills, Fla., area.
John is also survived by two brothers, Donald and Mary Lou Hinson of Denver, Colo., and Ronald and Thelma Hinson of Sebring, Fla.,; one brother-in-law, Roce and Victoria Simpson of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Rose Portecheller of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Betty Grennan of Alburn, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. John will also be remembered by his many friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hernando Pasco Hospice. Memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Hodges Funeral Home, Dade City, 301 Chapel.
