Leamon Paul Hinson 92, of Norwood, died Friday Afternoon, April 13, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Aquadale Baptist Church. Rev. Craig Scott will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Hinson was born November 12, 1919 in Stanly County. He was the son of the late Ben and Ethel Kimrey Hinson. He was a lifetime farmer, a retiree of Alcoa and Carolina Solite, and a member of Aquadale Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and loved Baseball and Softball.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years Nellie Kepley Hinson. He was also preceded in death by two half brothers and one half sister, Cart Hinson, Bud Hinson and Clarie “Sis” Hinson Hargett, and one Grandson.
He is survived by one son, Ted Hinson and wife Missie of New Kent, VA. Two daughters, Ruth Williams and husband Walt of Apopka, Fl. And Sybil Kay Shaffer and husband Billy of Norwood. One sister Odessa Hinson Welch of Charlotte. Three Grandsons, One Granddaughter and Seven Great-Grandchildren.
