Interesting information I found while scouring the internet for Hinson information. Below is a map showing the distribution of people with the name “Hinson” in the US.
Hinson is derived from the pre-seventh-century Old English word hind, meaning a female deer or servant. Thus, with the patronymic suffix son, it would indicate the son of a gentle person or son of a servant. Some of the different spellings are Hyndson, Henson, Hynson, and Hyndson. Hinson family history notes the first spelling as Henry Hynson in the Poll Tax Returns of Yorkshire, England, in 1379. Noteworthy Hinson genealogy members are actress Jordan Hinson; neurology professor Vanessa K Hinson; pianist and composer John Hinson; singer and guitarist Micah P. Hinson; and geologist, engineer, and oil company executive Howard Hinson.

It’s new so it’s empty now. I need to link it to the site. And yes, I did go down for Rolling Thunder yesterday. I don’t do the parade any more though. First you have to set in a crowd of motorcycles that number in the hundreds of thousands and there is only one tree on the Pentagon parking lot. Not a lot of shade. Then when the parade starts, you’re locked in for the full ride. Unless you get to the Pentagon around 8:00am (parade doesn’t start till about noon) you will sit for another hour in the midst of roaring bikes till you can start moving. then at least another hour on the parade route. Nope, did it once, that was enough. Now I go early, get a shady spot on Constitution ave and watch the others ride by.
I should have remembered all those visits I made to the state of confusion!! LOL. You did say you’d started a Crossroads page on FB, didn’t you? I looked but didn’t see the right one I guess. Anything special I need to look for? Are you going to Rolling Thunder this year?
Ahhh, that’s the state I live in; the state of ‘confusion.’ I’m hoping that I cut and pasted that rather than typing it but it’s now changed. Sheesh, I’m getting as bad as Obama!
Interesting article, but where is the 51st state located? Just had to be the pain I am usually. Happened to notice that it said 51 states and coulcn’t resist teasing a bit.
